A Brooklyn man is selling sneakers fashioned after President-elect Barack Obama.
Mitchell Rose is hoping to cash in on Obama's popularity with a pair of sneakers designed with the basketball-loving President-elect in mind.
Rose's "Obama '08" sneakers sell for $59.99 and come in white and black. The name "Obama" is stitched to the heel of the shoe, and the number 44 is stitched to the tongue in honor of the soon-to-be 44th President of the United States.

Rose is selling the sneakers from his car in New York City, but he plans to head to Washington D.C. next week for Obama's inauguration. The price of the sneakers will drop to $44.99 after the inauguration in honor of the 44th President.
The sneakers have mini boxing gloves stitched along the laces that glow in the dark.

Congrats to Kimora and Djimon! We hear that they are expecting their first child together. It was a rumor last spring, but we hear from a source close to Usmagazine.com that this time around its true! Miss Fabulosity, who is 33, already has two daughters with former husband Russell Simmons. The two officially divorced in 2008. Last September, when Kimora was asked if she wanted more kids she said “I would love to. I practice everyday.” We see she’s been practicing.

Today they will be opening the doors to a movie theatre in Harlem to offer free admission for the premiere of Notorious (Biggie’s biopic). “I did it for hip-hop,” asserts Jones. “It’s as big asObama’s being the first black president. This is part of our history in the urban community; Biggie was our first Obama.”
BEYONCE CHOSEN TO SING FOR OBAMAS FIRST DANCE!
I just got word that Beyonce will sing for President-elect Barack and Michelle Obama’s first dance on Inauguration night which will be held on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009. The Presidential Inaugural Committee has not released what song she will sing.
“It is our hope that we can keep the song secret until the moment,” spokeswoman Linda Douglass told The AP. As you may recall, Beyonce told the Obamas, after he was elected, that she desired to take part of the Inauguration. Beyonce is also set to perform at the Neighborhood Ball (to air on ABC) along with her husband Jay-Z , will.i.am , Mariah Carey , Alicia Keys , Shakira , Sting , Faith Hill , Mary J. Blige , Stevie Wonder and Maroon 5.

Rapper Jim Jones has a new gig! He recently was appointed the new Vice President of Urban A&R for Koch Records. The label announced the news yesterday (Monday). Jones is responsible for signing and nurturing new talent tot he record label. Jones is very excited about his new role. “It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career. They recognize that I’m not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mold a superstar,” Jones said in a statement.

Artist To Perform At Official Inauguration Event
As President-elect Barack Obama prepares for his inauguration next Tuesday, many are still wondering who is scheduled to perform at the event. Over the past couple of months, rumors have circulated, suggesting Jennifer Hudson and even Jay-Z as potential contenders to perform at the historic occasion.
Although details about the actual inauguration still seem to be a bit fuzzy, the Presidential Inaugural Committee has announced a lineup of A-list performers who will officially be kicking off the presidential inauguration festivities. This Sunday, HBO will air We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, a two-hour event which will include performances by Beyonce, will.i.am, Usher, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and Stevie Wonder. They will join other artists such as U2's Bono, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen, and more. Each participant will perform one song, some of which the singers have never performed in public before.
"This is a great opportunity to capture an historic event in a very meaningful setting," said Emmy Award winning producer and director Don Mischer, who has also produced Olympic ceremonies and Super Bowl halftime shows. "We will have the statue of Abraham Lincoln looking down on our stage and a crowd of hundreds of thousands of people lining the mall—a tableau any director would relish."
In addition to the musical lineup, actors Denzel Washington, Jamie Foxx, and Queen Latifah will be on hand to read historical passages. Beginning at 2:30 pm EST at the Lincoln Memorial in DC, members of the public can attend for free and without tickets.
According to MTV.com, Obama, Vice President-elect Joe Biden and each of their families will be attending the concert, and Obama will make an appearance onstage.
The show will air free on HBO on January 18, at 7 p.m. in each U.S. time zone. It will be broadcast on an open feed, allowing those with cable and satellite to view the show without charge.
Suspect Arrested In Bizzy Bone Beating And Robbery
A little less than a week after rapper Bizzy Bone was attacked and robbed, a man has been identified by police as one of the alleged attackers.
Ironically, the alleged attacker, Marlo "Bow Wow" Jones, is an employee for Unity One an anti-gang organization whose mission is to focus on, "…building a better future and stronger community through education, empowerment, improving individual motivation, and creating lasting opportunities for all people" according to its Web site. Sources say Jones, a former member of the Grape Street Crips, was also working on gang reduction and retaliatory shooting prevention efforts prior to his arrest.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Jones and several others allegedly attacked Bizzy Bone as the Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member was returning to his hotel room at the Universal Hilton in Los Angeles. Not only did the men choke and beat Bizzy Bone, but they also stole the rapper's jewelry.
"He was very useful and made himself a go-to person," civil rights activist and attorney Connie L. Rice tells the Times. "[But] he was not a professional. He didn't have the value system of a professional and the dedication of a professional."
The LAPD is currently seeking out others who may have also been involved in the incident, and according to a statement issued by the LAPD two of the suspects are female.
Serving only as a contract employee for Unity One, Jones was immediately terminated from his position. Jones who was arrested on Friday, January 9 is being held on $1.1 million bail.
Although Bizzy Bone is still a member of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, he was not featured on the group's last studio album Strength and Loyalty. Bizzy Bone has yet to comment on the incident.

January 13, 2009. I just caught wind of an interesting rumor. According to one of our snitches over at Def Jam, Jay Z has recorded a “singing track” in autotune.
Jay sings the entire hook using the autotune … at one point he hits a high note. Not even autotune could make that note sound on key.

Tameka Raymond: "I Will Not Be Joining "The Real Housewives of Atlanta'"
Despite whisperings that Usher's wife, Tameka Raymond, will be the latest Georgia Peach to join ATL's "Real Housewives," the celebrity fashion stylist will not seize the opportunity to show America what a true southern belle is made of.
"Although [Bravo] approached me, and I was flattered by the offer, I will not be joining the 'Real Housewives' cast," said Raymond.
Raymond, the CEO of Swanky Image Group and owner of Hides & Dungarees Denim Collection, welcomed her second son, Naveid Ely, with her pop star hubby last December. The couple had their first son, Usher V, in November 2007.
The mother of five has been busy raising her sons and creating her apparel line. Raymond is also preparing to work extensively with her Lost Ones Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to empowering at-risk, 12- to 18-year-old teenage girls by teaching them to about healthy self-images to help build their self-esteem. The foundation will sponsor biannual, four-day retreats with motivational speakers, empowerment seminars, group testimonials and beauty makeovers.

Rapper Lil Wayne, whose latest album The Carter III is still dominating the charts, has announced dates for his anticipated 'I Am Music' tour.The tour will still include Keyshia Cole, T-Pain, Keri Wilson, & Gym Class Heroes (love em!). The tour stops in Seattle, San Diego and Phoenix.
So far, concerts in 24 cities have been set, beginning December 14 in Miami and wrapping up January 19th in Worcester, Massachusetts.

After years of turbulence, Death Row Records is again being put on the auction block due to a Chapter 11 proceeding.
Founded by Suge Knight and Dr. Dre in 1991, Death Row Records filed for Chapter 11 protection in 2006, and only months later a bankruptcy trustee was ordered to take over the label. After being taken over by the bankruptcy trustee, Death Row Records received several bids but all of them fell through.
Jim Jones Arrested For Ne Yo Fight
Following an alleged fight with a member of Ne-Yo’s entourage, Jim Jones spent Monday morning being interviewed by police and said he’s fortunate to be a free man.
“I guess I got lucky,” Jones said after coming out of Manhattan’s 18th Precinct. “I got a DAT.” Jones was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket instead of a trip behind bars for the misdemeanor assault charge.

Dr Dre Reportedly Not Pleased With Song Leak
To add to the pressure on Dr. Dre with his highly anticipated album Detox expected to be released this year, earlier this week a track titled, “Could Have Been You” was leaked.
The song was recorded during the Detox sessions and it was believed the song was meant to be on the album. Although Dre’s camp has not commented on the issues but sources state the legendary producer was not pleased with the un-mixed and un-mastered version hitting the net.
“Could Have Been You” featured R. Kelly, 50 Cent and Slim the Mobster discussing a troubled unsuccessful relationship with a girl.
On the hook Kelly sings, "The reason why you didn't get picked, 'cause you got your nose up your ass smelling your shit/ But tonight you met your match, 'cause I be smelling my shit too/ Now how you like that?"
50 opens the song chanting “It’s the D, R, E” and goes on to explain his own problems with woman.
Although the song was leaked, due to the quality and the respect for Dre most websites have pulled it or did not post the track altogether. A song called “Crack A Bottle” by 50, Eminem and Dre was also released this week yet it is still unclear if this is a track for Detox or Eminem’s new project Relapse.
No release date has been set for either album but Relapse is expected to be released this spring with Dre’s long awaited album following.

T.I. Show debuting Feb.10
“T.I.”s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go”, bows Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. on the cable channel. Described as part “Diary,” part “Scared Straight,” the show will follow his attempts to change the lives of troubled teens, as well as offer a behind-the-scenes look at the two-time Grammy winner’s personal life, including the birth of his sixth child.
The title will change each week to reflect the time left until his sentencing, scheduled for March 27. After which, the last episode is set to air.
“MTV has always given artists a platform to get their stories and music out to their fans and this series reveals the unknown side of T.I.— one of the world’s greatest artists at the most precarious time in his life,” said Tony DiSanto, Executive Vice President, Series Development and Programming. “In the face of impending incarceration, T.I. is driven to ensure others do not make the same mistakes, and our cameras document every step along this road as he impacts and changes lives for the better. Although there are those that do not believe what is before them and available to them on the Library of Congress website and would have you believe that John Hanson was a Swedish gentleman. The Library of Congress will inform you otherwise. He Was a Moor. You may visit his portrait, letters to General Washington (prior to George Washington becoming a U.S. President) and letters to the French on www.loc.gov.
In life we have options to believe, disbelieve or investigate. I've personally chose the latter thereof, in regards to John Hanson. Throughout my quest for political awareness that far surpasses the limited knowledge to which the media and government agencies afford me, I've found astonishing information. My source for these discoveries begin with the Library of Congress (www.loc.gov).
We've been conditioned to believe the presidents of the United States of America began with George Washington, right? Well, here are a few queries for you...
1) Who made Washington President?
2) Who promoted General Washington into political office?
3) What was the governing authority prior to the U.S. Constitution?
4) What type of unifying government was in place during the revolutionary war?
* 1. Thomas Jefferson the third elected president, who served two terms between 1801 and 1809 was described as the “son of a half-breed Indian squaw and a Virginia mulatto father,” as stated in Vaughn’s findings. Jefferson also was said to have destroyed all documentation attached to his mother, even going to extremes to seize letters written by his mother to other people. Only in recent years did the family of Thomas Jefferson acknowledged he was the father of the (5 or 6) children born to a slave on his plantation, Sally Hemmings.
* 2. President Andrew Jackson, the nation’s seventh president, was in office between 1829 and 1837. A renowned African-American historian J. A. Rogers, author of the “Five Black Presidents” wrote that Andrew Jackson Sr. died before his son, President Andrew Jackson Jr., was born. The president’s mother then went to live on the Crawford farm, where there were Negro slaves and one of these men was Andrew Jr.’s father, Rogers wrote. Vaughn cites an article written in The Virginia Magazine of History that Jackson was the son of an Irish woman who married a black man. The magazine also stated that Jackson’s oldest brother had been sold as a slave.
* 3. Abraham Lincoln, the nation’s 16th president, served between 1861 and 1865. Author Vaughn, states Lincoln had very dark skin and coarse hair and his mother allegedly came from an Ethiopian tribe. His heritage fueled so much controversy that Lincoln was nicknamed “Abraham Africanus the First” by his presidential opponents and cartoons were drawn depicting him as a Negro. In a book, titled “The Hidden Lincoln” written by William Herndon, Lincoln’s law-office partner, said that Lincoln’s father of record, Thomas Lincoln, could not have been Lincoln’s father because he was sterile from childhood mumps and later was castrated.
* 4. President Warren Harding, the 29th president, in office between 1921 and 1923, apparently never denied his ancestry. According to Vaughn, William Chancellor, a professor of economics and politics at Wooster College in Ohio, wrote a book on the Harding family genealogy. Evidently, Harding had black ancestors between both sets of parents. Chancellor also said that Harding attended Iberia College, a school founded to educate fugitive slaves. Professor Chancellor says the Justice Department agents allegedly bought and destroyed all copies of this book. Harding suffered nervous breakdowns at the age of 24 and had to spend some time in a sanitarium. Between 1889 and 1901, Harding paid five “protracted” visits to the J. P. Kellogg sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan “to recover from fatigue, overstrain, and nervous illnesses.” Some speculate his illness was due to the pressure of not fully disclosing his black heritage and living as “white”.\
* 5. Calvin Coolidge, the nation’s 30th president, served between 1923 and 1929 and supposedly was proud of his heritage. He claimed his mother was dark because of mixed Indian ancestry. January 06, 2009. An interesting rumor is going around Atlanta. Word on the street is that R&B singer Keyshia Cole has become obsessed with rapper Young Jeezy ... and is now stalking him.
MediaTakeOut.com has been hearing whispers for weeks that Keyshia Cole has been trying DESPERATELY to get back together with Young Jeezy. But that Jeezy has been avoiding her – and not returning her calls or messages.
And there's more. According to one of MediaTakeOut.com's trusted insiders, Keyshia has been showing up uninvited to Atlanta clubs and attempting to confront him about his actions. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "Jeezy was set to perform at Velvet and Keisha showed up with friends, including [R&B singer] Monica. Apparently she was trying to meet him face to face that night ... [Jeezy] left the club."
The insider speculated that Jeezy is considering legal action against Keyshia. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com that he "may take out a restraining order against Keyshia."
